Make a difference
in the life of one abused or neglected child

A father and son were walking along a beach and came upon hundreds of starfish that had washed onto the shore.
The little boy stooped, picked up a starfish and tossed it back into the sea.

Then he reached down and picked up another starfish and tossed it back into the sea ... then another, then another.
|
|
|
After watching his son rescue several starfish, the father announced that it was time to walk along. He said there was no way his son could make a difference because of the great number of starfish that had washed ashore.
|
Stooping to pick up one more starfish, and tossing it into the sea, the son said,
"I made a difference for that one."
|
There are hundreds of children in the care of the Washington County child welfare and juvenile court system.
