Walk-In Flu Vaccination Clinic at ARCC
- Available to All Individuals

Hagerstown, MD (January 06, 2010) - National Influenza Vaccination Week begins Sunday, January 10, 2010. The Washington County Health Department will hold a walk-in flu vaccination clinic on Monday, January 11, 2010, at the Athletic and Recreation Community Center (ARCC) located on the campus of Hagerstown Community College on Robinwood Drive. The hours of the clinic will be from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Vaccines for the seasonal flu and H1N1 (Swine) flu will be available. Please do not show up early, as doors will not open until 9:00 am. Appointments are not necessary and will not be accepted.

This clinic will provide vaccinations for both seasonal and H1N1 (swine) flu and will be open to the general public. Seasonal vaccinations will be available to adults age 18 years and older and H1N1 vaccinations will be available to adults and children.

Children who come for a second dose of vaccine must bring documentation showing the date of the first dose. If a second dose is to be administered to a child, there must be a minimum of 28 days between doses.

This clinic is open to all.

Although the vaccine is now available to all persons, the target groups recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention remain a priority for the Health Department. The target groups include:
  • pregnant women
  • people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
  • healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
  • persons between the ages of 6 months and 24 years old;
  • people between the ages of 25 through 64 years old who are at higher risk for 2009 H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems
Medicare will be accepted for seasonal flu vaccines. We will also accept a $20 donation. H1N1 vaccines are free.

There will be no drive-through vaccinations offered. Clients are encouraged to park in lots J or L-1.
