All client information is confidential. The services of Washington County Health Department, as part of the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, are provided on a non-discriminatory basis. The department, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, ensures that qualified individuals with disabilities are given an opportunity to participate in the benefit from DHMH services, programs, benefits, and employment opportunities. Some services and programs are provided by the Health Department free of charge. Chargeable services are provided based on a sliding scale according to income. The Health Department will bill Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance companies on your behalf. No one will be denied service because of inability to pay.

Charges for Environmental Health services are set by county ordinance.
