Being a good parent is very important. All children deserve parents who protect them from harm, provide a safe and caring home and show them love and attention. Here are a few ways to do that:
- Never leave a baby unattended
- Respond to your child's cries quickly and learn what his cries mean
- Feed your child when he is hungry and change his diapers frequently
- Learn how your baby grows and develops so you can continue to meet her needs
- Play with your baby
- Read and talk to your baby many times throughout the day
- Show your baby lots of different things and explain what they are
- Put your child on a consistent eating and sleeping routine
