Parenting Tips

Being a good parent is very important. All children deserve parents who protect them from harm, provide a safe and caring home and show them love and attention. Here are a few ways to do that:

  • Never leave a baby unattended
  • Respond to your child's cries quickly and learn what his cries mean
  • Feed your child when he is hungry and change his diapers frequently
  • Learn how your baby grows and develops so you can continue to meet her needs
  • Play with your baby
  • Read and talk to your baby many times throughout the day
  • Show your baby lots of different things and explain what they are
  • Put your child on a consistent eating and sleeping routine
  • If you feel frustrated with your child's crying, tantrums or challenging behaviors and need to talk to someone, call this 24 hour hotline:
    National Child Abuse Hotline 1800-422-4453
