DESCRIPTION:
|
The Washington County Health Department's Nursing Division is seeking a contractual (no benefits) Community Health Nurse II to provide clinical nursing services for clients within health department clinics and outreach areas. This position will function as clinic nurse in Family Planning Clinics, STD Clinics, Child and Adult Immunization Clinics and TB/Refugee Clinics. The position will also provide services to children and adults within the clinics of the health department using Physician standing orders as guidance, document nursing care on appropriate records and reports, review laboratory results and provide appropriate follow-up for any abnormal results, triages problems of clients in clinical setting and/or via phone consult and provide appropriate intervention or referral, provide health education to clients within the health department clinical setting, function as House Nurse including CTR testing and counseling and general health promotion, provide assistance in investigation of communicable diseases, if needed, function as a member of the health department emergency response team, participate in mass immunization clinics and emergency preparedness drills as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
|
EXPERIENCE:
|
None
NOTE: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse may be substituted for the required education. Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse may be substituted for the required education.

LICENSE:
|
Candidates in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
