COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE II
Division of Nursing

Contractual (No benefits), Part-Time, 24 hours per week

SALARY:

$19.69 - $24.55 per hour based on experience

DESCRIPTION:

The Washington County Health Department Nursing Division is is accepting applications for a part-time contractual Community Health Nurse II. Clinical duties include: provides clinical nursing services for clients within health department clinics and outreach areas, functions as clinic nurse in Family Planning clinics, STD clinics, Child and Adult Immunization clinics and TR/Refugee clinics, provides services to children and adults within the clinics of the health department using Physician standing orders as guidance, documents nursing care on appropriate records and reports; reviews laboratory results and provides appropriate follow-up for any abnormal results, triages problems of clients in clinical setting and/or via phone consult and provides appropriate intervention or referral, provides health education to clients within the health department clinical setting.

General Community Health Nurse Duties include: functions as House Nurse including CTR testing and counseling and general health promotion; investigates reported communicable diseases and ensures appropriate interventions and follow-up; maintains records and reports according to program guidelines; functions as a member of the health department emergency response team; and participates in mass immunization clinics and emergency preparedness drills as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university

EXPERIENCE:

None

NOTE: A bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education. Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

LICENSE:

Candidates in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
A copy of current license MUST be attached to the application form (MS-100) when submitted.
